Yes.
I know I shouldn’t say it.
But the fun begins in May.
We are on our last day of testing.
I can’t help but think… it’s time for “fun” learning!
I know, I know.
We all try and make learning fun all year.
And I certainly don’t teach to the test.
But ther’es this certain kind of relief that comes with testing being done.
For the students, AND the teachers.
So yes, the fun beings!
And I {LOVE} kicking off the month with Farley’s currently!
Listening: I started writing this while sitting outside yesterday, reading a book and drinking cranberry juice to get some relief from this awful back pain. The sounds of spring were incredibly relaxing!!
Loving: I know I’ve said this once before, but these Narnia Lapbooks with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe are an absolutely blast! This is my 3rd year teaching it and I LOVE it as much as the kids! If you want to read more about it, check out yesterday’s post! Or click on the picture to download!
Thinking: Speaks for itself. ALMOST DONE!
Wanting: As if I need more clothes? A girl always needs more clothes though, right? π
Needing: This is only my second kidney infection and I can hardly handle it. Of course it’s bad enough on a normal day, throw in being stuck in a seat for 2 1/2 hours for testing.. multiply the uncomfortableness x’s 10! And of course I’m not going to leave my poor kiddos with a sub during testing week… I’m SO not happy with you kidney!
Summer bucket list: I can’t wait for all of these amazing events! YAY π Tim Mcgraw is our first concert of the summer and we love going to Jimmy Buffet with friends! It’ll be my first time in Vegas, too π

2.) Cover regular bulletin boards with fabric. I have always done this and it saves me SO much. The Fabric barely fades, it looks nicer, and doesn’t rip! LONG lasting!

I LOVE bulletin boards! Great suggestions! My friend and colleague at my old school always paid me (in pizza) to do her bulletin boards. LOVE them! This year, I enjoy my glass block wall! love your blog – i', your newest follower! Oh, feel better- not fun at all!!!

I read somewhere that a teacher uses sheets for bulletin boards instead of spending the extra money at the fabric store. I like your idea much better:)

Just curious if you have looked for/found fire resistant fabric anywhere? One of my walls is all shelves under the windows (good storage) but they are so ugly. I want to cover them but it has to be with something fire resistant..when I saw your post about using fabric on your bulletin boards, I figured I would pick your brain! :o)

Love that polka dot fabric – too cute! For smaller fabric projects adding some wonder under will prevent fading. I used it on a fabric pennant banner for my window and it looks as good as new! I'm so excited to have found another 4th grade blogger – I'm your newest follower!

Tara, I put up a fabric pennant banner and the janitor sprayed it with some type of spray that made it fire resistant and fire marshall friendly π

I was just going to comment the same thing π All of my bulletin board fabric I put up and my curtains my custodian sprayed it with fire resistant spray so the fire marshall would be happy π Ask your custodian if they have it, or I'm sure you could find it somewhere! Hope that helps π
I love shopping for clothes. I am a sucker for good deals or just cute clothes. I also love the poka dot fabric on your boards. Fabric is the way to go!

Sheets are good, but there's not a lot of options in colors and patterns! i love finding the cheaper fabric but in adorable patterns π
