Happy Sunday Funday everyone! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend π
It has been so long since I have linked up with Latoya at Flying into First Grade, so I just have to for this week’s fun topic π
My goals for this school year:
BE ORGANIZED! Yes, I always start the year with this spic and span organized classroom that I am so proud to walk into. Then, about 3 months into the year I feel like a hurricane has gone through and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what happened. I am trying to be more proactive this year and get things organized right away so I don’t have this problem!
BE TECH SAVVY! I am currently working on my Masters in Instructional Technology and all of this tech talk has me really feeling like a bum in the technology department. I need to vamp up my tech usage, like fo’ real! My first step towards doing this is creating a new “lesson” block each Tuesday in my schedule I am going to call “Tech Tuesday”! Each week I plan on taking 20 minutes to share a new technology with my students. For example: Blogger, Kidblog, Wikispaces, Voki, Google Docs, iCloud, etc. I am also going to give them 15-20 minutes that day to explore the technology. I know it is a big chunk of time, but with the mode of taking standardized tests changing, the technology component of Common Core, and my students working towards being 21st century learners, I think it is a necessity! I am also going to have a class Schoology page that I will share more about when it is all created. I plan on posting homework, important class updates, discussion forums with literature circle roles, comprehension quizzes, and writing journals on Schoology.
BE A LEADER! This will be my 2nd year at this school and I absolutely LOVE it. I have learned so much through blogging and my masters and I want to make sure I share it with my coworkers. We have such a positive and loving school environment, and I want to continue to encourage it!
What are your goals? I’d love to hear them!
Now for a linky update!
For those of you that read a few days ago I want to start a new linky pary that is like a KWL, for teachers. Each week I will choose a topic such as Reading Workshop. Bloggers will fill out a cute KWL chart with what they know already (share ideas and thoughts on the topic), what they want to know (bloggers can comment with suggestions and answers to their questions), and what they’ve learned from other bloggers or teachers or even just tricks of the trade over time. I need help naming this linky and got some amazing suggestions! I am going to give the person who suggested the name of my linky 5 free products from my TPT store.
I want your opinions too! Please take my poll and vote on what you think the linky party should be called:) Feel free to fill in your own idea for “other!”
Don’t forget today’s the last day to enter for a chance to win a $50 TPT giftcard and follow our new Pinterest board! Click here to enter π
I have the same goals as you!! Good luck! Let's check in with each other this year and see how we're doing on these goals. π
