First off, I wanted to thank all of you amazing followers for being patient with me lately! I know I haven’t blogged as often as I’d like, but getting ready for baby, the school year, and masters has been taking up a lot of my time! I’ve been productive lately though and have a few fun crafts to share with you! π
Last year I took the plunge into Interactive Notebooks and I LOVED every bit of it⦠well, almost! Each day I would have to control my OCD while teaching as the piles of scraps accumulated on desks and the floor. I needed a solution! When I saw these at Dollar Tree, I knew I HAD to have them!
Of course, they only had THREE in my classroom colors! Really?! And, my Dollar Tree only had these three all together. After calling around, I found more at another store about 15 minutes away, but I had to settle for different colors.
Never fear, it’s nothing a little spray paint can’t fix!
Hubs came to the rescue on this one! He was amazing and spray painted each of them for me. (He won’t let me anywhere near any fumes during this pregnancy!)
Of course I couldn’t leave them plain and boring, so I whipped up some cute labels which you can download for free here, and pulled out some fun ribbon!
My desks are in “teams” and everything is labeled that way (supplies, etc.) so I made two trash cans per team! I LOVE how they turned out and can’t wait to take them into my room! I plan on having a classroom job be to “empty the trash” each day at the end of the day!
My next two made-its are anniversary gifts! The hubs and I just celebrated our third wedding anniversary, and I wanted to share the cute gifts I put together for him. π
With Baby Cap coming at the end of October, I know this next year is going to be a whirlwind for us! I wanted to make a gift for him that would remind us to set aside time for each other, and still focus on letting our relationship grow. So, I made him “A Year of Dates” basket.
Since our anniversary is in July, I made the first date month August. Each month has an envelope with a little card in it! There’s a poem telling what we are going to do. There’s a wide variety such as golfing, a day at the pool, bowling with a twist, couples massage, and more! We are so excited to open one each month and set aside time to spend together. π
If you want to make this for a gift, here’s the template I used! You will just need to download the fonts. π
My third and last made it is my other anniversary present for the hubs! I have made him one of these each year, so it has become a tradition! π I absolutely LOVE doing it! I made a large one for our 1 year (it’s about 2.5 feet long!) and then last year and this year I have done 11×17 size. I plan to do all of the “big milestones” in the larger size (10 years, 25 years, etc.) until we have a wall filled with them. They all hang in our bedroom currently!
Well there you have it! I am finally getting my craft on again. π I have lots on the agenda this week for classroom crafts and baby room crafts, so make sure you stop by to see what I’ve been up to!
What a busy time for you!! I hate when the dollar store does not have enough of an item and they want you to drive around to 3 other stores. Great idea to spray paint the trash cans!! I am thinking of doing the same to my bins. Love the anniversary gifts!!
I did a year of dates for my husband for our fifth anniversary! It was awesome because I got pregnant that year too, so it was nice to make time set aside already for date nights! I was able to put gift cards or cash in the envelopes too, so it was even better because the dates were already paid for!! I love your yearly frames too! Those are AWESOME!!

It has definitely been busy! Haha.. all of the Dollar trees around know me by now! π Thanks for stopping by!
Awe, such a great idea! I was thinking the same thing.. makes us set aside time to spend together! π Thanks!
Hmm, guess I have to go to Dollar Tree now! Cool idea!
Oh my goodness! You have been a busy girl! First, happy 3rd anniversary!! Second, I love, love, love those little trash bins! I MUST get them! Thanks!

That trash bin idea is the BEST! I hate any projects with cutting for that reason….my floors get to be a crazy mess. I may need to steal this idea….as well as spray painting them if they don't "match" my room. π Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! π Definitely pick some up! I think they'll be a lifesaver for me this year.
Thank you sweet friend! π And yes, you must!! π
That is EXACTLY how I feel! haha! Please steal away! π
