I seriously squealed with joy when Tara announced that Monday Made It was back weekly for the summer! π
My first Made-it is an easy dinner, that is very popular with my husband and I! π It is a bacon onion flatbread, and it is relish!
Ingredients:
- 1 pre made flatbread (I use Archer Farms brand from Target
- 1 large yellow onion
- 6-8 slices of bacon
- 1 1/2 T garlic salt
- 1/2 t Italian Seasoning
- 1 t red pepper flakes
- 3 t minced garlic
- 3 T Olive Oil
Step 1: Add 1 tbsp olive oil to skillet and head on med-high. While heating, slice up onion. Add onion to the pan. Cook until translucent, turn down heat to low, add red pepper flakes and 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic and cook for additional 2 mins
Step 2: While onions are cooking, cook bacon in the microwave, remove and chop/break into small pieces
Step 3: Preheat oven to 400. While it’s preheating, put 2 tbsp olive oil in a bowl, stir in Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and minced garlic
Spray pan with nonstick cooking spray, add flatbread, and use spoon to evenly spread olive oil mixture (you will have a little left over, save for the end.)
Put the flatbread in the oven to “precook” for 3 minutes!
Step 4: Top the flatbread with onions and bacon, sprinkle on remaining olive oil mixture, and bake for 10 minutes. Remove, cut and enjoy! π
As you all know, my husband and I are expecting our first little bambino in October! I wanted to celebrate Father’s Day because he has already been such an AMAZING father and husband to baby and I, taking care of us over these rough months of pregnancy. So here’s the little something he woke up to Sunday morning! π
Inside the box was a handmade book from me to him! π
Just a few of the inside pages…
The back!
He loved it, and I know it’s something we will both always cherish! π
