Let me tell ya’ll.. it was a BUSY weekend. I can’t wait to share with everyone pictures from the amazing wedding hubs and I were in, and tell you all about how well my volleyball girlies played today!! I’ll share that all in a later post! First, I wanna link up a few made-its with the AH-MAZING Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics!!
My first made-it is a classroom one! As we are all winding down the year, we all remember to do some beautiful and thoughtful crafts for our little ones mommas, but what about those daddy’s that are often forgotten? Just because we are usually out of school doesn’t mean we can’t craft it up a little early for the dads!! My kiddos and I will be making these bad boys in 2 weeks for them to give to their fathers! They saw me working on it this week and are SO excited! π
The second made-it may be one of my favs ever…. the boys beer cake!
The bride had mentioned on Friday while we were getting things ready that she had wanted to make the groom a beer cake of Corona and limes since it’s his favorite beer. That way, they could all drink it while getting ready to take the edge off. She was bummed she didn’t have time to do it, so the MOH and I ventured out to the store around 11pm to pick up some last minute things and the stuff to make it and went to work first thing Saturday morning while we were all getting ready. It turned out amazing!! I got a pizza pan and a pizza dish from Dollar Tree for the layers, and used a 18 pack on the bottom and a 6-pack on the top. I hot glued the bottles to the pan and then hot glued the ribbon around. The glue worked great because it kept it sturdy but the boys could pop them off easily. I then just placed limes randomly throughout! I love how it turned out and will totally be making another in the future!!
The beer cake is very fun! I could totally see doing that with various types of drinks! My mom and I went to the movies and saw the Great Gatsby. It was an adventure with the wrong movie playing, but after it was all over we enjoyed ourselves!
