I don’t know about y’all, but when we do grammar lessons, I feel like my kiddos grasp it in the moment, and for the time we are learning.. but oh how quickly they forget! So I like to throw in a few quick check-ups here and there, to keep them on their feet π Today, my kiddos warm-up was what I call a “SHOW WHAT YA KNOW!” warm-up on commas and apostrophes. 1.) I had meetings 5/5 mornings this week for school. For real?! I know, it was CRAY CRAY! So of course, even though we have to be here at 8:10, I was rolling in every morning around 7:00 to get stuff prepared for my kiddos! Early mornings, yuck!
2.) We finished taking notes in our nonfiction text features booklets! The kiddos found some GREAT examples, and had a lot of fun doing the “book sort.”

3.) Hubby and I got to have dinner 3 out of 4 nights this week, and get to have a date night tonight! Volleyball was cancelled due to weather and sicknesses, and we’ve enjoyed this time together for once! Here’s one of our yummy dinners.. mashed potatoes, butter and lemon seared porkchop, and seasoned fresh green beans.ο»Ώ
4.) We celebrated the Superbowl in our classroom! I have some sports loving, football fanatic boys this year, and girls. They are alllllll about sports, allll the time! So I obviously seized the opportunity to get them excited about learning. We used A Cupcake for the Teacher’s Football Buddy craftivity, and did some writing and crafting! My teaching partner also did some probability and statistics with the Superbowl. Today we ate popcorn and watched funny Superbowl commercials and talked about persuasion!
5.) I know I don’t have to tell you, but Sunday is the Superbowl! π I will be spending the weekend at a tournament, so I won’t get to watch, boo π But, even more than I am excited for the game, I am excited for the {Super Bowl Sunday Super Sale over at TPT!!} My cart is already filling up! All of the items in my store will be 28% off and I am extending my sale through Monday! Stop on over and shop π

Another one of my favorite products is my Nonfiction Text Features booklet and activities. It has really been working in my classroom!
I am uploading a bunch of new products that I have just finished up! I have a few finishing touches to make on some tomorrow, but stop in my store to see all of my new products and get them for cheaper! Some of the items include a Presidents Day Writing Craftivity, Famous American Project, and a Common Core Aligned Poetry and Figurative Language 45 page unit! My Poetry and Figurative Language Unit is actually complete and uploaded! In the 45 pages there are two flipbooks: one for poetry and one for figurative language, posters for 7 figurative language terms, review sheets for each type of figurative language, a figurative language quiz, poetry/prose/drama organizers, and much more! I really liked the text features sheet that your students were using this week. I teach first grade and text features were a big focus this week for us, as well! My students went crazy over a climate map we were analyzing in a leveled reader this week. So exciting to watch them!
